More Successes
The Disc Link litigation was successful and all companies settled the lawsuits. By that time additional patents were granted. Some of these patents cover online broadcast of documents with links to recipients. These documents include news articles sent by media outlets to their subscribers and promotional materials sent by companies to their customers. Acacia decided to set up a new subsidiary, Online News Link LLC, as the owner of the new patents. In order to force companies to the negotiation table, Online News Link sued a number of companies. The links below are some of the publications that reported on the litigation:

There was less resistance by companies to license the patents. Also, I didn't see any article calling for invalidation of the patents (unlike the CDROM with link patent). Most probably, the successes of the previous litigation made people realized that it would not be easy to invalidate my patents.
Even though more than 50 companies had licensed the patents, it was not all well and good. Finally Acacia faced defeat. Ironically the defeat was caused by the grant of a new patent with great potential.
